A chance to own a pirate ship which played a starring role at a Lancaster theatre could be yours.

The Hispaniola was the centrepiece of the set for Treasure Island which entertained at The Dukes over Christmas.

And this unique piece of scenery could soon be sailing its way to a garden or play area as it is one of the main attractions of a charity auction which takes place at a major fundraising event in March.

Other ‘must have’ items in the auction include a fortnight in South Africa in a beautiful holiday home during whaling season and a unique architectural tour of Berlin in the company of the architects who designed the prize-winning London Olympic 2012 shooting arena.

The Dukes Diamond Charity Dinner, taking place at The Midland in Morecambe on March 16, will feature the charity auction.

Proceeds will support The Dukes Creative Learning Department which works with 5,000 young people annually and has recently been rated outstanding by the Arts Council for the second year running.
