An award-winning play penned by a local actor and with a Cumbrian setting is going on tour as part of the Arts Out West Programme and will be performed in Egremont, Torpenhow, Gosforth, Millom and Thursby.
Written by and starring Emma Rydal, True explores the evolving and challenging relationship between a mother and her daughter, from rebellious teenager to motherhood.
The production, directed by Workington’s David MacCreedy and co-starring Sarah Thurstan from Lancaster, has already won several awards and nominations.
Audiences who come along to see this production on tour will also get the chance to view the short film One Last Walk directed by Toby Gaffney, based on the last segment of True and shot on location near Crummock Water.
Emma is the brains behind La’al Marra Productions and is currently working on a follow up play to True—called False.
