Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre is looking for a group of people to play teenagers in Emteaz Hussain’s adaptation of Alex Wheatle’s novel for young adults Crongton Knights.
Anyone aged 18 or over by January 2020 with skills in physical theatre, beatboxing or music is invited to audition for the show, which tells the story of a group of teenagers from a South London estate who set out on a journey to help a friend in need.
It is the second production from a consortium comprising Belgrade Theatre, Pilot Theatre, Derby Theatre, York Theatre Royal and Mercury Theatre Colchester. It has been set up to create new work for young people.
Applications can be made at the Belgrade Theatre web site and must be submitted by 5PM on Wednesday 31 July. Crongton Knights will run at the Belgrade from 8 until 22 February 2020 before touring.
