Exercising creativity: a drama workshop at the Belgrade

Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre is to hold a socially distanced summer school for children aged between 8 and 16.

Adapted to meet the latest COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, the sessions will run for four days, offering youngsters from Coventry and Warwickshire an opportunity to get active and exercise their creativity.

The theme for the school is Coventry Talking Heads, drawing inspiration from actors and artists who have created characters within the walls of the Belgrade.

Practical, hands-on sessions will include drama games and acting workshops which will be led by the Belgrade’s team of practitioners. By the end of the four days, participants will have created an original performance which they will be able to share digitally with family and friends.

The summer school will run from 10 until 13 and 17 until 20 August. Further details are available at the Belgrade web site.

The theatre will also be bringing back its youth and adult acting classes which will run from the end of September until the first week of December.
