Dog/Actor is at the Hope Street Theatre, Liverpool, May 5–6.
After a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic, Threedumb Theatre present a double-bill of short plays by Steven Berkoff, presented in a one-actor, 50-minute production.
With zero set, zero props and a loop pedal, Dog/Actor depicts the lives of a racist hooligan, his dog and a struggling actor.
Berkoff first presented Dog in 1993, in response to the pub-lad-football culture surrounding hooliganism. Actor was first performed in 1984 and is written as a spoken word poem, commenting on the paranoia and jealousy that some artists feel when suffering rejection.
