Celebrating the second city and the performing arts: Birmingham Fest

Applications are being taken for the 2018 Birmingham Fest, an independent performing arts festival which is returning for its sixth year.

Dozens of artists and companies present a variety of shows over a two-and-a-half week period in venues across the city. Pieces are presented from all over the UK and sometimes further afield. Performance slots are usually up to one hour.

Some companies use Birmingham Fest as a rehearsal for Edinburgh which follows shortly afterwards. Individuals and companies can produce theatre, dance, children’s theatre, workshops or seminars.

The festival will take place from 13 until 29 July. Applications can be submitted to the Birmingham Fest web site.
