Applications are being invited for Birmingham Fest, an independent performing-arts festival which celebrates the second city’s arts scene.

In 2014, dozens of artists and companies from all over the UK and one from South Africa presented more than 70 shows over two and a half weeks.

The third Birmingham Fest will take place between 17 July and 2 August, just before the Edinburgh Fringe. Individuals to companies can apply to stage anything including theatre, dance, workshops or seminars.

Four venues will be hosting fringe theatre: @ A E Harris, the Blue Orange Theatre, the Crescent Theatre and the Old Joint Stock Theatre. Performance slots are usually up to an hour.

More details are available at the Birmingham Fest web site.
