The original Broadway production of Jason Gilkison’s Burn The Floor is being recreated for a limited tour heading to Blackpool Opera House July 21.
It features some of the most celebrated alumni of Burn the Floor including Strictly Come Dancing’s Aljaž Škorjanec, Kevin Clifton, Janette Manrara, Karen Hauer, Dianne Buswell, Joanne Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Kai Widdrington and Robin Windsor.
They are joined by Pasquale La Rocca, three-time Dancing with the Stars champion; Anya Garnis, So You Think You Can Dance star and former Strictly professional; Ash-Leigh Hunter, one of Burn the Floor’s longest members and assistant choreographer to Jason Gilkison on Strictly; Trent Whiddon, the former Strictly professional joined Burn the Floor at the age of just 17 and has gone on to choreograph elsewhere; Gordana Grandosek-Whiddon, Burn the Floor’s longest member, has toured the world and performed on Broadway; Robbie Kmetoni was the first contemporary dancer to join Burn the Floor, performing on Broadway; and Arduino Bertoncello starred in Kevin Clifton’s Burn the Floor tour.
The show is a blend of Latin and ballroom dance first conceived as a special performance at Sir Elton John's 50th birthday celebration in 1997. Two years in creation, the show made its world première in the UK before breaking box office records on Broadway and the West End.
