Once a Year on Blackpool Sands

The story of a real-life love affair between two Yorkshire miners is coming to Greater Manchester Fringe July 1 to 31 before setting off for a run in New York off-Broadway at the Davenport theatre and being made into a film.

Once a Year on Blackpool Sands is written by Karlton Parris and presented by Manchester-based theatre company Skint Productions.

Set in Blackpool 1953, before homosexuality was legal in the UK, the comedy focuses on Eddy and Tommy on their annual Wakes Week holiday.

It’s at Three Minute Theatre from July 11 to 13 and Salford Arts Theatre on July 20 and 21.
