Stage Door Festival is a new musical theatre exhibition taking place in Blackpool next October.
Featuring iconic venues like the Winter Gardens and Blackpool Tower Ballroom besides the seafront Viva Show Bar, it plans workshops, exhibition space, masterclasses, performances and Q&As—all dedicated to musical theatre.
Performers will share their knowledge and inspire visitors from across the UK.
Musical theatre performer and former lecturer Michael Cosgrove, one of the co-founders of the event explained, “there are plenty of shows and events for dancers but nothing for musical theatre. I always wanted to take students to a dedicated event, but there wasn’t one. As a performer too, you want to keep raising your game. Stage Door Festival will do exactly that.”
He’s partnered with event organiser Mark Walsh, who added, “Stage Door Festival will take place in October during Blackpool Illuminations and showcase the resort as the entertainment capital of the UK.”
More information will be available in the New Year but in the meantime Michael and Mark are looking to work with brands to both sponsor and exhibit at the festival, besides seeking theatre professionals to join panels or share their knowledge at workshops and Q&As.
