West Midlands-based theatre company NeuNoir is to present at Halloween The Judge’s House, a “tale of creeping terror” written by Dracula creator Bram Stoker.
The play features maths student Malcolmson who is eager to pursue his studies away from familiar distractions. He heads to the small, sleepy, remote market town of Benchurch where he discovers a desolate, fortified Jacobean manor. Moving into the imposing vacant property, his intense study initially goes well until his peace is violently disturbed by an infestation of gnawing rats whose repellent invasions become bolder and bolder with each passing night.
The Judge’s House, originally published in 1891, is “widely regarded as one of Stoker’s greatest horror achievements”. Read by actor Richard Usher, The Judge’s House will be the fourth production from NeuNoir.
It will be performed at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday 26 October, Birmingham Back-To-Backs on Sunday 27 October and Greyfriars House, Worcester on Friday 1 November. Further information is available at the NeuNoir web site.
