Nottingham Shakespeare Company is to stage its “breakneck theatre rollercoaster” Macbeth (Abridged) at Nonsuch Studios in the city on Saturday 6 May.
Director Michelle-Louise Wright, who also plays Lady Macbeth, said, “this is Macbeth in the original text in an hour with all the lechery and treachery left in. We thought what better to do on Coronation Day than a story about the legitimacy of kings?”
The rest of the cast comprises Warren Saunders (Macbeth), David Watts (Macduff), Alastair Fiori-McPhee (Ross), Jonathan Mansfield (Malcolm) and James Kaye (Banquo).
Macbeth (Abridged) will be presented at 10:30AM and 1:00 and 3:45PM. Wright, who trained with both Shakespeare’s Globe and the Royal Shakespeare Company, will also lead workshops called Playing Shakespeare at 12:00 and 2:45PM.
