Newcastle-under-Lyme’s New Vic is looking for budding young performers to appear in its Christmas production of The Hundred and One Dalmatians.
The theatre-in-the-round is offering youngsters the opportunity to perform alongside a professional cast in a new adaptation of Dodie Smith’s children’s novel which runs from Saturday November 23 until Saturday 1 February.
The New Vic is looking for boys and girls aged from 6 to 14 to take part in a summer school. At the end of it, up to 30 will be offered places in the production.
The summer school, which takes place from Tuesday until Saturday, 27 to 31 August, will also give children the chance to shine in front of some of the industry’s top professionals, with television and film composer James Atherton and choreographer Beverley Edmunds lined up to share their skills.
Auditions for the summer school will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 June.
Children auditioning will need to be confident performers with good dance and singing skills.
Contact Katharine Boon on 01782 717954 for an audition application form or download one from www.newvictheatre.org.uk.
The summer school costs £75.
