NE writer / theatre-maker burn / gobscure has been awarded a bursary from MGCfutures, one of the 33 choreographers, digital creators, writers, set and costume designers and even a casting director announced in the fifth round of awards which were created to support theatre practitioners to develop their careers in the industry.

MGCfutures is a charitable organisation, utilising the skills and experience of the Michael Grandage Company and governed by a Board of Trustees. MGCfutures Education Associates, Dominic Francis and Samantha Lane, develop workshops and online materials to support theatre-goers to get the most out of their experience, especially those visiting a theatre for the first time.

MGCfutures is also supported by the charity's patrons: Dame Judi Dench, Dawn French, Nicole Kidman, Jude Law, Daniel Radcliffe, Sir Simon Russell Beale, Sheridan Smith OBE, Aidan Turner, David Walliams OBE and Ben Whishaw.

This bursary will enable burn / gobscure to write their new solo show have a heart, as well as being able to spend time being mentored by Third Angel.

A statement from burn / obscure says, “we can develop our heart-attack show in style, & continue our mentoring from third angel! hearts & heartlessness—our heart-attacks as 'side effects' of psychiatric medication, heartless politicians, but also doctor who (two hearts), octopi (three hearts—theres evolution!), and lovehearts sweets poetry—as russell hoban said 'i may not be deep but i am wide'”
