More than 70 entries have already been received for the 2014 Buxton Festival Fringe.

Among the events lined up include Butterfly’s Dracula’s Women Underground in Poole’s Cavern and a chance to meet Oscar Wilde in his prison cell courtesy of Olivier-nominated actor Gerard Logan.

Fringe chair Keith Savage comments, “With more than 70 entries by mid-March, Buxton Festival Fringe 2014 is looking very exciting.

“On the international front we're happy to welcome back Bern Budd from Massachusetts, USA with his witty telling of Mark Twain's The Diaries of Adam and Eve.”

Performers can still enter. There are two more deadlines: for performers who enter before 31 March the fee is £65. The final deadline for inclusion in the printed programme, published in early June, is 20 April, with entries charged at the full cost of £80.

Details of how to choose a venue are published on the Fringe web site.

The Fringe runs from Wednesday 9 July until Sunday 27 July.
