Mermaids and music: Buxton Opera House

Buxton Opera House is to join forces with Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust and Buxton International Festival on two separate productions in 2020.

The theatre will collaborate with Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust on Deep, Rob Young’s story of a Buxton teenager who encounters a mermaid in the town’s waters. It will be performed by a cast aged between 16 and 30. It can be seen at Buxton Opera House on Sunday 26 January.

The Opera House and Buxton International Festival will get together for a performance of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Directed by the Opera House’s Paul Kerryson and conducted by the festival’s head of music Iwan Davies, A Little Night Music will form part of the Buxton International Festival on Saturday 4, Friday 10 and Saturday 18 July.
