The Play That Goes Wrong

The Mischief Theatre Company is looking for local pups for a walk-on (or carry-on) role in The Play that Goes Wrong at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford from 17 to 22 March.

The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is attempting to put on a 1920s murder mystery but, at the title suggests, everything that can go wrong does, as the accident-prone thesps battle on against all the odds to get to their final curtain call.

This production opened last year then transferred to the West End, where it enjoyed two successive runs, followed by a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

All dogs will be considered as long as they are not afraid of loud noises. No special skills required.

Anyone thinking their pooch has what it takes should tweet a picture to @mischiefcomedy and @Yvonnearnaud with hashtag #Guildfordpupidol or send an e-mail with the subject "Guildford Pup Idol" and an attachment to [email protected].

All doggy photo entries must be received by Tuesday 4 March.

A commitment to attend at least two performances would be required. The lucky owners will receive a pair of complementary tickets to see the show on their dog's night off and a complementary family ticket (4 people) for one of their dog's performances.

Owners must be prepared to accompany their pet backstage in the theatre.

Pup Idol winners willl be announced on Monday 10 March.
