Lichfield Garrick’s panto Cinderella raised £3,218 for the charity We Love Lichfield—the single biggest donation from an organisation in the fund’s history.

We Love Lichfield is the Garrick’s charity for 2015. The fund distributes grants of up to £1,000 to voluntary groups and good causes across the Lichfield district.

Adrian Jackson, Garrick chief executive and artistic director, said, “a donation of this size for We Love Lichfield is the icing on the cake from Cinderella. The show was a great success with a packed house at every performance.

“We played to more than 25,000 people in four and a half weeks, many of whom travelled quite a distance to see the show. This was great for Lichfield as theatregoers took advantage of the hotels, restaurants, bars and shops while they were in the city.”

Simon Price, patron of the We Love Lichfield fund, added, “I’d like to thank everyone at the Garrick for their hard work and to the audiences for their generosity.

“I knew when the Garrick decided to make We Love Lichfield its charity of choice the fund had gained a strong, substantial and generous partner. But this is amazing and simply the perfect start to 2015.”
