Belfast-based Commedia of Errors has announced plans to take a new “nostalgia-filled Christmas show”, Plays Aloud Christmas Craic, to care and nursing homes and dementia care units across Northern Ireland.

Devised and written by the company’s co-founders Clare McMahon and Benjamin Gould, recently responsible for The Gap Year at the Lyric, Belfast, the new show “features classic tunes, comedy and more” and will be separately toured by two teams of actors from December 5 to 23.

It’s the latest iteration of the company’s Plays Aloud at Home programme which launched in 2017 in a partnership with Radius Housing to take dementia-friendly variety shows into homes for the ill and elderly.
