Buxton International Festival’s performance of Pauline Viardot’s operetta Cinderella tours to The Lowry in Salford in February following sell-out success at Buxton’s summer festival in 2021.
The role of Prince Charming is played by Manchester-born mezzo Camilla Seale.
Laura Attridge (director) and Anna Orton (designer) create a simple production. The operetta is sung in French (with English surtitles) and the dialogue is all in English. The chamber opera featuring seven singers and a pianist, and the Cinderella tale is told with a smile.
For families, the running time of the show lasts 70 minutes without an interval.
