Union from Cobbled Haze

The Cobbled Haze Club premières Union from June 30 to July 5—a “radical, ambitious in-promenade theatrical experience!”

Union pub drag queen Gloria is talking to an hallucinated Cilla Black when she notices a dead body floating in the canal. A series of interconnecting monologues follow, exploring the dark lives of the regulars and workers of The Union.

Already described as ‘passionate, lyrical and angry’ by 24:7 Theatre Festival, Union is delivered by the same team behind Strangeways.

Fronting the cast is professional drag artist Belinda Scandal, who recently made an appearance in BBC 3’s People Like Us. Alongside her is Jo Dakin, who starred in Pests at the Royal Exchange and Everyman Theatre; Andrew Husband joins following his appearance as Widow Twankey in Aladdin at the Academy Theatre in Barnsley; the cast is also joined by Robin Lyons, Rebecca Riley and Lucy Ross-Elliott.
