Comedy and thrillers this summer in Wolverhampton

Dean Gaffney, Gemma Bissix, Katy Manning, Oliver Mellor, Karen Ford, Peter Amory, Rebecca Wheatley, Kim Taylforth and Michelle Morris are among those appearing in this year’s summer play season at Wolverhampton Grand.

This year’s productions—the fourth consecutive year that the Grand has staged its summer season—are Simon Brett’s comedy Murder in Play; Neil Dunn’s all-woman romp Steaming; Angela Huth’s marital comedy The Trouble with Old Lovers; and Welsh playwright Emlyn Williams’s period thriller A Murder Has Been Arranged.

Dean Gaffney, Gemma Bissix and Katy Manning will be joined by David Callister and Richard Tate in Murder in Play from 25 until 29 June.

Rebecca Wheatley, Kim Taylforth and Michelle Morris lead the cast of the comedy Steaming, set in a run-down steam room in London’s East End, from 2 until 6 July.

Peter Amory returns to the Grand in The Trouble with Old Lovers from 9 until 13 July.

Oliver Mellor and Karen Ford close the summer play season with A Murder Has Been Arranged from 16 until 20 July.
