A View from the Bridge: chance for community to appear on stage

Director Juliet Forster is looking to cast a community ensemble in her production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge which will be part of Royal and Derngate’s Made in Northampton season in autumn 2019.

The actors in the ensemble will play neighbours and co-workers of the main characters. They need to be 18 or over and available for most rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 17 September until 10 October and all day on 14 and 15 October and at least half of the performances. No experience is necessary.

Forster, associate director at York Theatre Royal, commented, “Arthur Miller says you can’t really understand Eddie Carbone outside his community, so inevitably I want to create a living, breathing, feeling community on stage around him, drawing on the remarkable skills of our community actors.”

Auditions will be held on Tuesday 3 September from 6 until 8PM. For further details contact Erica Martin, creative learning associate at Royal and Derngate, on 01604 655732 or at [email protected].

A View from the Bridge will run from Tuesday 15 until Saturday 26 October.
