'80s Mania

Three dates for the musical tribute concert ‘80s Mania have been postponed because of references to Jimmy Savile.

The producers of the show, the Reunion Group, say recently published allegations about the late broadcaster’s private life have forced them to change the production because of what could be termed “sensitive and emotive material”.

Mike Read’s pre-recorded video performance features several impersonations of Savile. The producers say it’s “impossible to delete just the Jimmy Savile sections of the footage” because of the “interactive nature of the video recordings”.

Shows at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, Redditch Palace Theatre on Thursday (18 October) and Mansfield Palace Theatre on Friday, 26 October will be rescheduled.

Concerts at Cheltenham Town Hall on 30 November and Perdiswell Sports and Leisure Centre, Worcester on 8 December will go ahead with new video footage.
