World première: The Owl Who Came for Christmas

Leicester’s Curve is to hold open auditions for actor-musicians to take part in its Christmas 2023 Studio show The Owl Who Came for Christmas.

Curve’s chief executive Chris Stafford and artistic director Nikolai Foster said, “we always look forward to our Made at Curve family Christmas productions and we’re thrilled to be creating the first stage version of John Hay and Garry Parsons’s The Owl Who Came for Christmas.

“Hay and Parsons's story highlights themes of caring for others in need, the power of the natural world and protecting the environment around us. It’s a truly magical treat for the festive time and a great way to introduce young imaginations to the power of theatre.”

The show will be co-produced with Norwell Lapley Productions and will be adapted for the stage by writer, performer and Curve creative programmes practitioner Chandni Mistry. It will be directed by Curve’s artist development and new work producer Cara Nolan. It will run from Saturday 2 until Sunday 31 December.

Auditions will be held in June. E-mail [email protected] to express an interest in joining the production.

The Owl Who Came for Christmas will run alongside Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita which will run at Curve from Monday 27 November until Saturday 13 January 2024.
