Artists who have appeared at Leicester’s Curve over the past five years will return to the theatre for its fifth birthday gala concert.

Janie Dee who appeared in Hello Dolly! in 2012, Frances Ruffelle who played the lead in Piaf in 2013 and Lucy Schaufer from Adam Guettel’s The Light in the Piazza in 2009 will all be back for the gala on Sunday, 12 January.

David Witts will also make his debut Curve performance before joining the cast of Hairspray which opens on 28 February.

Introduced by Curve’s artistic director Paul Kerryson, the charity night will also feature the cast and orchestra of Chicago who will celebrate the international reputation of musicals created in Leicester.

The cast of Curve’s community productions of Sweeney Todd and Oliver! and members of Curve Young Company will also take to the stage for the final event marking Curve’s fifth birthday.

Fiona Allan, Curve’s chief executive, says, “The gala concert concludes what has been a fantastic season of celebrations.

“All tickets purchased for the special night will directly help to support our creative work with local communities.”
