The youth theatre at the Customs House in South Shields is looking to commission a new or emerging writer to create a script for the Junior Youth Theatre for performance in March 2015.
The script should be thirty minutes in length, and to have eight main parts and an ensemble.
There are three potential subject areas that the script can explore, these are:
- School and friendships
- A modern spin on a Shakespeare play
- A magical story based on a fairy-tale
The script must be suitable for performers aged ten to fourteen years old.
The total fee is £550, which includes five days of writing and half a day for rewrites.
The timeframe is as follows:
- 17 September : Deadline for applications
- 19 September : Shortlisting
- 17 October : Deadline for submission of first draft
- 27 October : Deadline for submission of final draft
