Theatre by the Lake’s spring production in Keswick is Dancing at Lughnasa.
The play, by Brian Friel, won four major awards for Best Play when it was first performed ncluding both the Olivier and Tony awards. It also appears on the National Theatre’s list of the best plays of the 20th century and The Telegraph even called it a “masterpiece”.
It follows five sisters through the festival of Lughnasa in the summer of 1936 and is being directed by Mary Papadima.
Dancing at Lughnasa opens on March 28 and runs until April 19.
