Naughty Meg and the Christmas Elves: a success for Babbling Vagabonds and Derby LIVE

More than 6,000 people saw a festive production staged by Derby city council’s events and entertainments arm Derby LIVE.

Naughty Meg and the Christmas Elves was a co-production between Derbyshire-based theatre company Babbling Vagabonds and Derby LIVE.

The show set a new box-office record for Guildhall Theatre Christmas productions. Babbling Vagabonds will return to the city at Christmas 2015.

Councillor Alison Martin, the city council’s cabinet member for leisure and culture, said, “it was such a pleasure to see children enjoying the Guildhall show. I’m looking forward to next year’s Christmas programme which promises to be even better with pantomime being staged at the Arena.”

Aladdin will be presented at the new £27.5 million Derby Arena from Monday 7 December until Sunday 3 January 2016.
