All in-person performances of Mike Kenny’s The Little Mermaid at Derby Theatre have been cancelled as the city has entered the government’s tier three COVID restrictions.
However, the theatre is offering the opportunity to experience the show at home: a full, 45-minute recording will be available to view online on selected dates.
The Little Mermaid is an underwater adventure aimed at children aged five and above and their families. The cast will feature two teams of actors who will perform on alternate dates: April Nerissa Hudson and Oliver Ashworth, and Joelle Brabban and Jordan Laidley.
It is directed by Derby Theatre’s artistic director Sarah Brigham backed by the creative team who have produced many of the theatre’s Christmas shows.
The Little Mermaid will run from Tuesday 8 December until Saturday 2 January 2021.
