A Derby Theatre production has been cancelled because of a “serious underlying health issue in the cast”.
A new play written by hip-hop artist and music producer Rukus, 4 Walls should have featured a professional cast of seven and eight members of a community ensemble.
The “high-energy multimedia experience with live music, performance, dance and large-scale digital projection” was due to run at Derby Theatre for a week in June 2022.
It was produced as part of Derby CAN (Creative Arts Network), a three-year project funded by Arts Council England to connect with various communities in and around the city.
But it has been called off due to a health issue which is non-COVID related. The theatre says it is “not commenting / elaborating further” at this stage.
