Building that houses Derby Theatre: 40 years in the city

Derby Theatre is to present a gala performance of its big autumn production Brassed Off to mark 40 years since the opening of the building formerly known as Derby Playhouse.

The theatre’s general manager Gary Johnson said, “we’re very excited about the gala evening and celebrating the 40th anniversary. Brassed Off is the perfect show to celebrate the occasion—a big-hearted, rousing production full of heart and humour, which we are confident will be a huge hit. Every penny from the event will go towards our work within the community.”

The gala performance will be held on Tuesday 22 September. The black tie/formal wear event will include champagne, drinks and food. Cost will be £40 per person.

Brassed Off runs at Derby Theatre from Friday 18 September until Saturday 10 October.
