Last year, 53two in Manchester teamed up with TripleC to create a Christmas advert highlighting the lack of disabled artists seen on screen.

By Christmas Day, it had received more than 75,000 views, so the team is back this December to create another.

53two is a charity offering support for creatives in all disciplines and, although plans to move into their new fully accessible theatre venue have been delayed, they remain active with online workshops as well as offering a COVID-safe environment at their studios in the city centre.

TripleC is a non-profit community interest company that creates projects that break down barriers faced by disabled people of all ages accessing the arts.

This year’s advert, written by Vicky Wild, was chosen from more than 50 pitches submitted. Casting has begun and playing the lead role is 10-year-old Amelia Eldred, diagnosed with a tumour in her left femur on her seventh birthday .

The advert will be released online early December.
