London's Donmar Warehouse announces a return to the Donmar for Phyllida Lloyd, film director Joe Wright's theatre directing debut and a revival of Conor McPherson's The Weir to end Josie Rourke's first year as artistic director.

Lloyd will direct an all-female production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar to open the season starring Frances Barber in the title role, Harriet Walter as Brutus, Jenny Jules as Cassius, Cush Jumbo as Mark Anthony, Claire Dunne as Portia and Jade Anouka as Calpurnia. It will run from 29 November 2012 to 9 February 2013.

Following this, British film director Joe Wright makes his stage directing debut with Arthur Wing Pinero's Trelawny of the Wells, running from 15 February to 13 April 2013.

Rourke closes the season herself with a revival of Conor McPherson's The Weir from 18 April to 8 June, a play that she says "made me determined to work in the theatre" when she saw it fifteen years ago.

Alongside the season, the Donmar has announced a new initiative sponsored by Barclays that will hold back two thirds of the front row seats in both the stalls and the circle and put them on sale on a Monday two weeks in advance of the performances for just £10. The twenty standing places will continue to be sold as day seats on the day of the performance.
