Lancaster based theatre-maker Andy Smith presents a double-bill of new solo performance at the city university’s Nuffield Theatre on February 7.
Using his trademark informal and conversational style, the two shows in one evening ask a few questions about what we are up to, contemplate the world in which we live, and think about how we might change it.
Andy describes All That is Solid Melts Into Air as being ‘about how we change the world’. Commonwealth tells a story of a group of people meeting in a theatre to listen to a story.
Andy is also co-director (with Karl James) of the award-winning plays An Oak Tree, England and The Author by Tim Crouch. He is currently an AHRC scholar undertaking a practice-as-research PhD at Lancaster University, where he also teaches applied theatre practice and performance composition in the Theatre Studies department.
