Ellen Kent's Die Fledermaus

Opera producer Ellen Kent returns to Manchester Opera House March 18 to 19 bringing her versions of Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus and Bizet’s Carmen.

Die Fledermaus returns after its world première in 2006 and is based on Herbert von Karajan’s famous version, with snatches of spoken dialogue. Strauss’s light-hearted operetta combines a cast of colourful characters with some of opera’s most popular musical moments in a story of love, laughter and sweet revenge.

It will be sung in English with English surtitles.

Carmen stars Liza Kadelnick, the celebrated international mezzo-soprano, and will be sung in French with English surtitles.
