A Midsummer Night's Dream at Northampton's Royal and Derngate

Northampton’s Royal and Derngate is looking for children to join its professional cast in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Director Gary Sefton is looking for girls and boys aged between 8 and 14 who are no taller than 5ft 2ins to play fairies.

The young actors will be cast in two teams of five who will rotate between performances.

They need to have good movement skills and be able to sing and act as well as “being enthusiastic and having bags of personality”.

Auditions will take place at the theatre on Monday 25 February, with slots available from 5:30 until 8PM. Only 60 places will be available and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register, download a form from the theatre’s web site. For more information contact Meryl Couper on 01604 655774 or e-mail [email protected].

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run from 19 April until 11 May.
