Summer must be on its way as The Dukes begins preparations for this year’s outdoor walkabout show, Hansel & Gretel And More Tales From The Forest.
Jessica Baglow, who played school pupil Karla Bentham for three years in the popular BBC1 series Waterloo Road, takes the role of Gretel. The Dukes newcomer will play opposite Preston’s Joshua Miles as Hansel also in his first production for the Lancaster theatre.
Williamson Park once again will be the backdrop to the UK’s biggest outdoor walkabout theatre event.
From July 4 to August 16, audiences will follow Hansel and Gretel through the park where they will re-discover a collection of time honoured tales.
Ulverston-based writer Zosia Wand has intertwined the central story with other characters from popular children’s tales as the action moves from one location to another around the Edwardian park.
