Due Course, presented on tour by New Perspectives theatre company

East Midlands touring company New Perspectives is this week presenting Due Course, a performance by its Step Up ensemble.

The ensemble is a group of 12 emerging theatre-makers including performers, stage managers, designers and composers who have been working with New Perspectives since last October.

The ensemble created Due Course from a selection of the winning scripts from the Dream Up writing competition, a yearly contest for writers living and working in the East Midlands.

Due Course features stories from the East Midlands including the lives of two people whose future together seemed certain until life threw up some unexpected events; a party for someone who feels the only way to find her future is to leave behind the places and people she knows; a ruthless corporation in which the leaders have decided drastic steps must be taken in the name of progress; and a mother and daughter prepare for an extraordinary journey down the River Trent.

Directed by New Perspectives associate director Tilly Branson, the show will tour to venues across the East Midlands including Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Wednesday (3 July); Manton Village Hall, Rutland on Friday (5 July); a free performance at Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham on Saturday (6 July); and Thurgarton Village Hall on Sunday (7 July).
