Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre has revealed details of its programme for The Studio and other special projects in early 2014.

The return of Julie Hesmondhalgh, in an award-winning play about the tragic death of Sophie Lancaster; a new play by Bruntwood Prize winner Vivienne Franzmann and the culmination of the Hunger For Trade—an international arts response to the global food crisis—are among the Studio season highlights.

Other projects and collaborations include Puffball—with The Roundhouse—which brings the spectacle of circus to the Theatre for the first time—and A Day Of Song staged throughout the Exchange by students from the Royal Northern College Of Music.

The Theatre is also planning a conference in partnership with The Booth Centre—Manchester’s pioneering project for homeless people—and implementing Year Four of the Truth About Youth programme.
