Four of The Lowry’s Front of House volunteers in Salford, will tread the boards as extras in the venue’s upcoming production of West End comedy The Ladykillers.

Fifty ladies applied for the chance to step into the spotlight but only four could be chosen to play Mrs Wilberforce’s “swarm of little old ladies” who attend a concert given by The Ladykillers, a musically-gifted gang of crooks.

Kelly Godwin (66) from Sale, Maureen Smith (75) from Flixton, Joan Burgess (75) from Swinton, and Stef Lorenz (68) from Salford have been getting into character and will star alongside Michele Dotrice (Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em) and Cliff Parisi (EastEnders, Call The Midwife) from March 26 to March 30.
