Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre has appointed Anna Moutrey and Sean Pritchard to its new leadership team, a month after announcing it would scrap the role of Artistic Director. Moutrey's title will be Director of Producing, and Pritchard will be Director of Production; both will take up their roles early in 2024.

Moutrey is currently Executive Producer at Factory International, where, most recently she worked on the Aviva Studios opening production Free Your Mind directed by Danny Boyle, which can be seen on BBC2 on New Year's Eve. She has previously worked with Manchester International Festival, Frantic Assembly and Great Big Events where she produced sport presentation programmes.

Pritchard is currently Technical Director and Head of Production at HOME Manchester, and was previously Senior Production Manager for Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres.

Steve Freeman, Royal Exchange Chief Executive, said of the two appointees, "they are both leaders in their field, with a wealth of experience and huge respect across the sector. They join us at a moment of exciting change, as we prepare to appoint our new Creative Director.

"Anna and Sean are creative thinkers who push the boundaries of theatre making, with them in post I’m confident that the Exchange will thrive as Greater Manchester’s leading, full-time producing theatre. They will bring their expertise and care to our theatre making, ensuring that we are at the forefront of theatre craft and a place where the most exciting artists want to work."
