North west champion brass ensemble The Fairey Band will join Rambert at The Lowry for Dark Arteries from September 30 to October 2.

Dark Arteries is a new work from Rambert artistic director Mark Baldwin and composer Gavin Higgins and features in a dance triple bill with The 3 Dancers by Didy Veldman and Terra Incognita by Shobana Jeyasingh.

Based in Heaton Chapel, Stockport, The Fairey Band will perform alongside Rambert’s dancers in a brand new piece of work inspired by the miners’ strike 30 years ago.

Dark Arteries premièred at Sadler’s Wells in May and explores ideas of industry, conflict and solidarity. This work about community and change comes to The Lowry, a venue built on the grounds of industry past and present.
