Northampton Royal and Derngate’s storyteller-in-residence Jo Blake Cave is to lead a master class in the art form.

How Do You Climb a Glass Mountain?: Cracking Open the Fairytale will look specifically at “the uncanny, otherworldly world of the fairytale”.

Those taking part will explore the questions of where, why and to whom fairytales might be told, and will learn a range of storytelling techniques.

Based in Northamptonshire, Jo Blake Cave undertakes storytelling for theatres, art centres and festivals; site-specific events that explore stories of place and belonging; and traditional, informal storytelling sessions in a variety of venues.

As storyteller-in-residence at Royal and Derngate since 2010, she regularly hosts a backstage tour Behind The Curtain.

The master class takes place at Royal and Derngate, Northampton on Thursday 21 November from 7:30 until 9:30PM.

Tickets, which cost £20 each, can be booked by calling the box office on 01604 624811 or online at www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
