Coventry City of Culture Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Company have announced the 12 actors who will appear in their new co-production Faith.

Many of them hail from Coventry and the West Midlands and will play multiple roles across four promenade performances that take place throughout the day on Saturday 11 September.

The cast comprises Annice Boparai, Daniel J Carver, Pushpinder Chani, Sarah Cullum, Jack Gardner, Darryl Hughes, RSC associate artist Katy Stephens, Humera Syed, Anand Toora, Matthew Wait, Claire Wetherall and Grace Wylde.

Directed by Erica Whyman, the RSC's deputy artistic director, Faith will take place over 24 hours in locations across the city and online, and invites audiences to immerse themselves in the diverse faiths of Coventry.

Faith will comprise four plays: The Messenger and The Return by Chris O’Connell and Chinonyerem Odimba’s The Arrival and Generation 20.

The promenade pieces will each be performed twice to a live audience and are also being live-streamed.

Whyman who directs Faith said, “over the weekend of 10 and 11 September across the city and online, we will inspire conversations about what we each believe and what keeps us going in tough times.”
