Five shows for children and their families are coming to Northern Stage between February and June.

Pinocchio
Northern Ballet’s eighth children’s ballet, which premièred in October 2021, is aimed at children aged 3+.

Zog and the Flying Doctors
Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s bestselling book, presented by Freckle Productions. For ages 3+.

Oi Frog and Friends
Olivier Award-nominated stage adaption of Kes Gray and Jim Field's bestselling books for children aged 3+. With songs, puppets and plenty of rhymes.

Handa’s Surprise
Based on the book written and illustrated by Eileen Browne
A Little Angel Theatre production
A blend of physical performance, puppetry, live music and song, Handa’s Surprise is an intimate production with audience participation, visiting Kenya, following in Handa’s footsteps as she journeys to see her best friend Akeyo in the next village. For children aged 2–6.

4 and 5 June (various times)
Aidy the Awesome
An aerial theatre show from the Gramaphones Theatre Company.
Aidy is a normal 8-year-old girl… or so she thinks! One day she discovers a family secret that changes everything and she and her granny embark on an adventure that turns their world upside down. A show designed to highlight to young women that they can be strong, resilient and empowered. For children aged 3–8.
