First international festival of improvised dance

The first international festival of improvised dance is to be hosted by the Department of Contemporary Arts at the Cheshire campus of Manchester Metropolitan University next month.

Process Product will take place at the Axis Art Centre from February 25 to March 1 and will feature professional dance artists from Asia, Europe and North America.

It will explore the idea of improvisation through a variety of live performances, screened dance showings, workshops, presentations and informal discussions.

The festival is open to academics, students, local schools, artists and members of the public.
