The Formidable Lizzie Boone

Selina Helliwell’s new play The Formidable Lizzie Boone comes to Manchester Fringe Festival in September, bringing with it the themes and dark humour that made her Burnout successful.

For those who prefer to watch theatre from the comfort of their own homes, her ‘coming of age’ play Fruit Salad will be available as part of the GM Fringe Digital Events programme for the whole of September.

Burnout had two sold-out runs in Manchester as a short, fringe-style piece and a full-length, two-act play.

The Formidable Lizzie is centred around a therapist’s office, and explores the intricacies of humanity through a woman who loves vodka with lemonade and a cat named Lionel.

Lizzie will be played by Helliwell, working with emerging Northern director Hannah Heaton, and voice actors.

It’s performed Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September.
