Frankenstein

A new version of the story of Frankenstein by Timeworks Theatre is to tour the region this month to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s novel.

Written by John Seymour and directed by Sarah Seymour, this new version looks at the story from today’s perspective, for with the unlocking of the secrets of DNA and the possibility of cloning and genetic engineering, it’s a tale that remains as relevant, and as horrifying, as ever.

The play brings together the plot of the novel, how Victor Frankenstein creates life itself and key events in the life of Mary Shelley, creator of one of the most influential and long-lasting horror stories of all time.

The cast features Lucy Curry as Mary Shelley, Arthur Thorpe as Victor Frankenstein and Chris Iddon as The Creature.

The production tours to:

  • 18 and 19 October
    Newcastle Castle Keep
  • 24 October
    The Exchange, North Shields
  • 26 October
    Langley Castle
  • 28 and 29 October
    Crook Hall, Durham
  • 31 October
    Arts Centre Washington
