Durham’s Gala Theatre and Cinema is to extend its temporary closure because of the coronavirus pandemic until January 2021, it announced today.
“It’s very disappointing not to be able to present our autumn programme for you,” the statement says, “but we are sure you understand that the safety of our customers, staff and performers is our priority.
“As a result of the closure, many of our performances have been rescheduled or cancelled.
“However, we will be using this period to undergo a refurbishment of the venue, to create a more vibrant and welcoming space for our customers.”
